Nostalgia for the ‘90s has never been greater – and especially for the rave scene which defined a generation.
Tunes, sets, and videos of events from the Decade of Rave generate millions of online views and listens as ravers young and old talk passionately and fondly about the much-loved era.
Yet there is no spoken word podcast dedicated to the ‘90s rave scene…until now.
R.O.A.R: The ‘90s Rave Podcast is a brand-new lively, fun, informative and emotive podcast series that will take you on a nostalgic trip back in time with stories, tales and mixes from the big-name DJs, MCs, producers, promoters and pirates who you got you dancing through the decade – and who you’ve loved ever since.
R.O.A.R. will celebrate ‘90s rave culture with in-depth interviews with those who helped create the scene, alongside journalistic specials focussing on particular aspects of it.
Hosted by former talkSPORT presenter, journalist, ‘90s rave fanatic and bedroom DJ, Tom Latchem, and Chrissy Richards – who’s been raving since 1994 and as leading female DJ/producer Cris.E.Manic has performed at the some of the biggest events, hosted shows on legendary pirate radio station Eruption FM and even promoted her own old school parties. The team is completed with Paul Pryor aka Kingsize who, like Chrissy, has probably had his fingers in too many pies over the years and he provides his skills as a producer, researcher and glorified tea boy for the series.
R.O.A.R. will also include features and competitions, plus interaction with the ravers who made the ‘90s rave scene so special.
And the good news is, whether you’re a rave devotee or simply have an interest in dance music, culture and British society – your name’s on the guestlist.
